Volunteer Opportunities
There is a volunteer opportunity for everyone at Hospice of Acadiana. Hospice of Acadiana offers numerous opportunities for volunteers in the following areas:
Volunteers can work directly with patients:

Direct Patient Care

Respite Care Volunteer - stay with a patient to provide caregivers a break to run errands and accomplish household tasks

Pastoral Care Volunteer - provide the family with religious care through prayer and spiritual support

Bereavement Volunteer - offer bereavement care to family members who are grieving the loss of a loved one through companionship and support programs

Patient Pampering Volunteers - provide special services to patients including, hairdressing, manicures, and massage therapy.

No One Dies Alone Volunteers - stay with actively dying patients who have no family family in the hope that no one will die alone
Volunteers can support the Hospice of Acadiana Staff:

Administrative Support Volunteers - provide administrative and clerical services by assisting with mailings, computer work, filing, and telephones

Special Event Volunteer - assist the Hospice of Acadiana Foundation with fundraising and special events
Volunteers can help promote Hospice of Acadiana in the Community:

Speaker's Bureau - give talks on behalf of Hospice of Acadiana to local area organizations to help to spread the word about hospice care
