Since its founding in 1983, Hospice of Acadiana has provided care for over 25,000 individual patients with a life-threatening condition. 

 

Each year, close to 50% of our patients suffer from some type of cancer.

Of the remaining 50%, the diagnoses include:

• Heart Disease

• Pulmonary Disease

• Kidney Disease 

• Liver Disease

• HIV/AIDS 

• Neuromuscular Diseases, 

• End Stages of Alzheimer’s 

• General Debilitation Due to Advanced Age.

 

Since life-threatening conditions respect no age boundaries, our patients range in age from birth to 100+ years. Approximately 70-75% of our patients are Medicare eligible.
