Acadiana's Only Nonprofit Hospice
Veterans Program
A Program to Serve Those Who Have Served Us
Hospice of Acadiana is proud to serve the patients that have served us in the armed forces. We understand that veterans may have special medical, emotional, social and spiritual needs, which is why we are committed to providing our Veteran patients the support that they deserve.

We Honor Veteran's Program
Hospice of Acadiana is Acadiana's only level-4 partner with We Honor Veteran's (WHV), an initiative by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Hospice of Acadiana is proud to support the mission of We Honor Veterans: to promote veteran-centric educational activities, to increase organizational capacity to serve Veterans, to support development of strategic partnerships, and to increase access and improve quality. By Partnering with We Honor Veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs, we are able to offer specialized programs for our veterans.
Veterans Serving Veterans
Hospice of Acadiana is proud to offer support to veterans by veterans. Our volunteer services offer veterans the opportunity to have volunteers from their branch of the military, as military culture is a culture in and of itself. Establishing this connection provides volunteers and patients a unique opportunity to relate and connect with Veteran patients and their families.
Military Service Recognition
All patient and staff members of the armed forces, either past or present, are invited to attend our special military service recognition event around Veteran's Day, every November where they are honored for their service to our country and given a special token of our appreciation of them.
